Four Hour Day Trip

I went over and picked up Mom and Dad today, we decided to do something completely different then go see doctors.
A good friend of theirs passed away this week, so I took them to the funeral.  It was very hot outside but in the shade it wasn't to bad. The funny part the lady that passed away was late to her own funeral.  I'm still not really sure she showed up because there was only a very little cardboard box that was on this little table.

After that I took Mom and Dad to a buffet restaurant that Karl and I just love.  I was a little disappointed, they didn't have any of the items that Dad and I enjoy.  We found out that they only serve the spareribs and steak for dinner.  Go figure we were only 4 hours early.

I thought since we were over by Mom and Dad's old house, I would take them there so they can see the changes the new owner has done to the house.  The house actually looks good. The wonderful fruit trees are still there and the lemon tree that Dad planted the day Karl was born is huge.  The color of the house is different, and they put a small wall around the yard.  I think that the house looks great.  Now for the rest of the neighborhood it looked like a ghost town. Most of the houses are empty and been vandalized.

There is graffiti all over the walls of the houses and windows broken out.  The weeds in the front yards were 4 feet high.  It was so sad seeing how bad that neighborhood has gotten.

On the way home Dad mentioned that he would like to stop at JC Penney's and get a couple pairs of pants.  I just don't understand why he needs new pants.  The poor guy has lots of pants that are too big or too small.  Mom and I keep buying him pants and they never fit him.  But he puts them in the closet with the other ones in hope that they will fit some day.  By the way, we had no luck finding the color pants Dad wanted.  So Home We Went.
We did this whole trip today in 4 hours.  Not bad if I do say so myself.
